Nowadays, wireless communication applications in industrial environments are widespread. The use of such solutions as a complement to traditional communication buses (wired) offers great potential for process optimization.

Wireless industrial communication bus

Adevice offers its solution adeCONVERTER for communication in industrial environments based on a reliable, robust wireless data bus and with low latency and the ability to deploy large numbers of elements (even thousands) to cover a wide area network by using backbones and sub-nets.

The wireless communication capabilities allow nodes to quickly deploy networks over a wide area. It is also possible to integrate this system with buses available on the plant (Can Bus, Ethernet, Modbus, etc.) devices through data concentrators from Adevice are also available.

A particular use of this solution is to control heliostats and photovoltaic panels CCP to cover a solar plant. Through this solution is being developed in cooperation with Telvent and Abengoa Solar Energy, a solution for an autonomous heliostat, equipped with wireless communications and rechargeable battery power, which makes it ideal for mass deployments. This will avoid performing civil works for the deployment of fiber optic equipment and it could shorten and cheapen the construction of the solar plant.
